I feel like people are starting to prepare for Thanksgiving and Christmas earlier and earlier each year. This might (emphasis on *might*) help explain the absence of a store crush.

Doesn’t this always happen when the House is predicted to flip? Some members who aren’t in it for the long haul decide they don’t want to fundraise just to spend two years sitting on their thumbs.

I think she also has realized that the House has a good chance to flip in 2026, and has no desire to fight an ugly primary against a Trump-funded opponent just to be stuck in the minority.
As others have said, the only job in DC more boring than a minority-party House member is a sidelined veep.

I’d love to repudiate that sort of sentiment. Unfortunately, pro-immigrant sentiment seems to be one of the most reliable triggers of conservative support these days.
I think it’s better to just point out the insane excesses of the Trump administration’s enforcement efforts.

And strategies like Ossoff’s aren’t meant to actually court racists. It’s meant to keep swing voters who might be turned off by a particularly sensitive issue, or not activate low-propensity Republican voters who might stay home. That’s it.

I guess we won’t agree. I can’t understand why people aren’t willing to at least vote for harm reduction. Withholding your vote just helps your least favorite candidate.

I think the stock Hetzer is even less subtle. It’s a box with wheels to carry an AC/20 around.

Even if I concede that someone like Ossoff is bad on immigration policy, isn’t it better to vote for the -5 than the -10?

You don’t have to do a lot. You don’t have to donate or volunteer or even publicly praise. All you have to do, if the choice is between them and someone who will push the immigrant hunting for us to do more, is vote for the better choice.
