Employers: do not ask doctors or any health care providr for sick notes. Wastes time better spent looking after people who actually need health care. We are not part of your work attendance management system.
Pleased & amused that some docs send bills to employers directly for sick notes.

I use accounting software to run the finances of my company- it has also introduced AI… it now takes longer to process invoices because it continually / systematically makes mistakes - for now- we can still turn it off.
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?

Demolishing the East Wing of the White House before finalizing plans for what will be built above its ruins is a near-perfect metaphor for Trump's approach to economic policy. The only difference is the wrecking crew doesn’t claim the rubble is evidence of unprecedented growth.

Why not the UK
"Spain just made history by proving what many thought impossible — the entire country ran on 100% renewable energy for an entire weekday. Solar, wind & hydropower together carried the nation’s energy needs, with not a single fossil fuel source in use for that day."

That’s great- but at the same time we are one of the largest exporters of gas and coal- ie our export emissions are off the hook.

Australia’s emissions from fossil fuels down as electricity from renewables passes 40%
While greenhouse gas emissions fell 2.2% or 9.9m tonnes last financial year, new policies are needed to meet the 2035 target

Countries above have used their resources to benefit their citizens (while continuing a high tax regime).

Australian govts hv squandered Australia's resources to enrich foreign corporations (while using tax reform as a political football).

And whilst they are there, the govt should be collecting billions for our sovereign wealth fund too (eg Norway)- but no- just giving it away!
Australia doesn't have a gas supply problem, we have a gas export problem.

Good to see the govt considering diverting export gas to the 🇦🇺 market. This should apply to existing projects. There's simply no need for new gas.

Looming east coast gas reserve could cut prices by 20pc
Labor is targeting a domestic reservation system that would ensure enough extra gas to bring down prices but not so much that producers rein in output.
