As @calmatters.org highlights, cruel, reckless raids aren't just affecting immigrants and hurting their families and jobs, they're hurting all Californians and by extension the nation. Our social and economic interdependence calls for continued and deepened solidarity. calmatters.org/economy/2025...
Thousands of Californians lost work after LA immigration raids. Citizens did, too.
A new report from UC Merced shows Latino and white people especially lost work after the Trump administration escalated immigration enforcement in L.A.

Every immigrant worker in California has felt the impact of unconstitutional raids based on racial profiling.

This legal victory will help protect workers from being stopped, harassed, or detained simply for looking brown and working hard.

Andry José Hernández Romero, I remember you, even if I do not know how to articulate my horror, rage, & sorrow at your treatment by my government.

Reproductive rights and abortion access are about agency, bodily autonomy, and basic human rights, but they're also about economic freedom and mobility. Research like this new report by IWPR continues to affirm that restricting people's rights, in particular women's rights, is bad for the economy.

What's happened since?

A record number of women have been prosecuted. Pregnancy loss is now considered extremely suspicious, even when it has nothing to do with abortion.

Breaking: our due process.

If this is the jurisprudence #SCOTUS is setting today, I shudder to think where we'll be in a few years let alone a decade of sliding down this slope without Congress stepping up.
#BREAKING: Over a (sharp) public dissent from the three Democratic appointees, #SCOTUS clears the way for the Trump administration to remove migrants to third countries *without* giving them an additional opportunity to contest whether they face persecution or other forms of mistreatment there:

Some good points about self awareness and controlling our environment but my fav line from the write up by far lol:

"Only a quarter of the subjects were able to resist eating the marshmallow for 15 minutes. This implies that a large majority of us lack the self-control required to succeed in life."
Studies suggest that, because the brain forms habits unconsciously, relying on will power to change our behavior is hopeless. Instead, we must find strategies that don’t require us to be strong.
