Nephew getting married in a few months and going to be traditional. My mom will be close to 92. She can no longer help with saree draping. I spent a little time with her getting a refresher but my task is to spend next few months practicing at home. I found a pleat making gadget so I bought it.😄

Frog knocked at Toad’s door. “Toad, wake up,” he cried. “Come out and see how wonderful the winter is!”

“I will not,” said Toad. “I am in my warm bed.”

Yikes. Very ticked off to learn of this incidence of blatant anti-Black racism that recently befell my former colleague, Phillip Martin, an award-winning Journalist @gbhnews.bsky.social and other major outlets. Glad that Phillip held the company Accountable. 🙌🏾 #FAFO www.boston.com/news/local-n...
Denial of service to Black journalist was a case of ‘mistaken identity,’ says Caffè Nero
Staff at a Caffè Nero in Cambridge denied retired journalist Phillip Martin service last week after mistaking him for another Black man.

Thanksgiving was late this year. It's been a while since I've been out here in this kind of cold. It's going to snow Tuesday. I leave Wednesday early morning. I told my 91 year old mother next visit is going to be fall. We went out last night to somewhere "old". It opened in 1989. I left in 1990.

MAGA South Asians to the courtesy phone. This is how they see you when you're not in the room. Not that this person is MAGA but they sure show signs.

Fun afternoon with @keithb10.bsky.social seeing Wicked 2. I didn't care for it but company was great. Husband supposed to meet us for drink after but MUNI was in disarray so had to turn back (was never going to make it). Had our drinks & parted ways (was able navigate back without too much hassle)

This ends live music for few months. Glad went to both Bertha shows. Last night was high energy and liked the setlist better. Really fun mix of young who weren't born when Jerry died, old people who experienced many shows with lot LGBTQ representation. Ended with US Blues waving inclusive Pride flag

Bertha ( Grateful Drag cover band). These guys are really good. They started as a protest because of the anti drag sentiment and here we are. Just did a fantastic China Cat Sunflower/ I know you Rider. Waiting on second set. If you like this music, don't miss them.

David Byrne’s “T-Shirt” feels like an existential crisis wrapped in cotton and rhythm — only he could make wanting a simple shirt sound like a cosmic quest for identity. Quirky, joyful, and quietly profound. Classic Byrne. youtu.be/kwDi86iBPJ4?...

I can no longer follow the plot of this show. I suspect the writers and actors can’t either. I don’t think they have a show runner.

Worcester is my hometown. Yes indeed. Who can forget that Chuck Stuart mess. I was in grad school, the following year I relocated to SF. It was a complete racist mess.
100%. Elizabeth Spiers is right.

Aside:
If you ask Black folk that have lived all over this country 🙋🏿‍♂️what the most racist city they've lived in is, the most common winner is Boston.

Ironic, but Black folk can't convince white folk that Black folk understand which city is more racist.🤷🏿‍♂️
If you're talking about me, that is not what I said. The whole thread started bc a bunch of supposed progressives were like fuck the south, buncha racists, and I said that if you think of the south as all MAGA white people you are throwing a lot of people under the bus--especially Black Southerners
