have not read Willy Vlautin's source novel THE NIGHT ALWAYS COMES, but he's the reason the movie was on my radar. One of my pals who's a Vlautin fan was disappointed with the adaptation.

PLAY DIRTY is probably more enjoyable as a Shane Black movie than as a Richard Stark riff. Luckily I love Black
