pretty weird how there's always billion dollars just lying around whenever ICE needs concentration camps but there's never any money when children need healthcare or a simple school lunch. oh well just one of those things I guess

Reality is now so internet poisoned you cannot say true things without appearing insane. “The New York Times ran a hit piece on Zohran purely so a minor race science blogger could place insider trades on Polymarket” sounds like you are a schizophrenic but it is straightforwardly factual!

2) This should show how much of a hack both Ben Ryan and the New York Times is on so many other topics.

I’ve watched them pull this shit with trans healthcare for the last 5 years.

Drop your NYT sub.

I genuinely believe the only way we smash fascism is if the next Democratic administration is willing to use prosecutions and investigations in aggressive and norm-bending ways that make a lot of bien pensant legal academics extremely uncomfortable.

I used to regularly read the NYT with a school subscription, and I slowly noticed the degradation in their quality. Apparently, now they push their writers to crap all over a civil rights movement.
1. After the Skrmetti decision, the New York Times has published 6 articles dancing on the graves of trans youth and spreading disinformation on care.

It was cited 7 times in the ruling.

Read my latest on what will be a black stain on the NYT for a generation.

Interesting how they have left out how several recent reviews have recommended trans care for youth in European countries.

Doesn’t fit their narrative I guess.

New German, Swiss, And Austrian Guidelines Recommend Trans Youth Care, Slam Cass Review
The recommendations, released by the Association of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany, come at a time when US politicians erroneously claim that Europe is "pulling back" on transgender care.

Remembering Chevalière d'Éon for Pride. A transgender woman in the 1700s who was also a spy and who turned double agent, extorted an entire monarchy to get her gender marker changed, and lived her life as a woman in a time when such was thought impossible.

We have always been here.

"i identify as trans" (vs simply "i am trans"), to me, always carries this subtle connotation of "...which is a conscious choice i've made"

not dissimilar to "i am gay" vs "oh, they *act* gay, it's like a lifestyle choice and we have to respect it 👍"

there's no choice here, in both examples
this is probably one of the greatest failings of 2010s era identity politics: instead of framing trans experiences in terms of their lived realities, it gave reactionaries wide rhetorical latitude by “identifying as” things that we literally, materially are.

too many people are influenced by the christian idea of "humans are inherently good until they are tempted by satan or whatever" and resist the concept of systemic social issues so that they have to resort to armchair diagnosing mental illnesses in order to explain why someone behaves like an asshat
