Ahh fair enough! Longtails would definitely have a challenge hauling this one around 😅 hope you find something that works for you then :)

Would a folding e-bike work? I bought this last year in hopes I could use it along with the Northstar train to visit my parents up by St. Cloud, but they never brought back weekend service and now the train will be gone forever. I’ve barely ever used it so it could definitely use a better home

Please do not vote for Chen or Her! Neither understands the needs of the city at the street level even when confronted with the problems directly. Public works is a huge part of the city budget and we need a mayor who doesn’t turn a blind eye to glaring issues just to appease their rich friends.

I grew up selling popcorn door to door as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout, but we often struggled because it was never quite as popular as Girl Scout cookies. Love to see that some troops are trying out new things like selling local coffee instead! Bought myself two bags 😄

If your school zone infrastructure doesn't look like this, maybe it's time to start asking why not.

Fahrradfahren verlernt man nicht. Und in den Niederlanden gibt man den Menschen erst gar keine Gründe, damit aufzuhören

My e-bike has turned my hilly suburban East Richmond area into a 15-minute neighborhood. Post office, hardware store, 3+ groceries, Kaiser, gym, waterfront all in easy reach for this creaky 74 yo.

Did you find anything more about this?

Interesting. Which questions are we not aligned on? I put “maybe” for the Northern Iron question because it’s a state issue but I’m generally in favor of revoking their permit. I put “don’t know” for cutting services because I don’t know the details of what federal funds are going to be cut yet.

If you build a city that works for the people, the businesses will follow.

I’ll let Carter and Her fight over who’s the best candidate for businesses. I’m more focused on being the best candidate for the people.

The first time I thought about being mayor was two years ago when I was in a jury for a murder and I heard first-hand how the police department failed to investigate a non-fatal shooting that then led to a fatal shooting. I’m glad St. Paul has implemented this, but I’m disappointed how long it took.

St. Paul was inspired by the "Denver Model" and created its own "Saint Paul Model" and brought their clearance rate from 37% in 2023 to 70.5% in 2024.

In 2025, St. Paul is now trending to have a 30% reduction in shots fired and a 70% reduction in homicides.

Didn’t seem like wire theft since none of them looked broken into and it was only on one side of the street until the city border at highway 51

I know we can’t legally annex Falcon Heights, but can they just give us the other side of Como so we can turn on the lights at night?

Glad someone dug into this a bit more! I was a bit annoyed when @kaohlyforstp.bsky.social said she found out who the owner was in 5 minutes.

If you see “SCP 2005-C21-045 LLC” as the owner and don’t ask anymore questions about it, you’re not asking enough questions.

in perpetual, horrified fascination by the us system of shell companies in real estate. when i saw this in the pioneer press today i had to do a little digging, even though i knew i'd get absolutely nowhere.

Residents urge St. Paul to demolish Midway’s vacant CVS
Among the complications: It’s unclear who exactly owns it.

Day 5 of #weekwithoutdriving!! Got a bit of an early start today and was reminded how few of our trails have appropriate lighting. Good thing I have some great headlights on my bike and helmet!

Day 4 of #weekwithoutdriving! This view from the Lafayette bridge never gets old ☀️

It’s one thing to host a candidate Q&A and not invite me, but it’s another to tell people I’ll be there after not inviting me. I would’ve gone.

Abundance, in this vision, means making sure people have the tools and flexibility to respond to housing stress in their own place. It’s about equipping neighbors to be active participants in solving housing problems, not passive subjects of markets or policies designed elsewhere.
strongtowns.org
There’s a different way of thinking about abundance and infrastructure. It is, as Charles Marohn says, “an abundance rooted in feedback loops, in neighbors noticing what works and adjusting what doesn’t.”

A disproportionate # of people w/a disability depend on non-car mobility. For folks in a wheelchair, temp regulation is especially critical and challenging.

Every bus stop without a shelter in Minnesota is a policy failure.

Shade and warmth are not luxuries.
