Ghana’s foreign minister just posted this to X:

The Ghanaian Government is pleased to note that our refusal to accept Abrego Garcia has been duly acknowledged and complied with by the US
Department of Homeland Security.
We have also followed with satisfaction that DHS has today taken the appropriate steps to inform Garcia's lawyers and amend court submissions to reflect the fact that Ghana cannot be an option for Garcia's deportation.
The Mahama Administration will continue to be transparent and truthful to Ghanaians at all times.

UPDATE: In emailed statement to me / @reason.com, DHS alleges that WGN-TV producer Debbie Brockman "threw objects at Border Patrol’s car and she was placed under arrest for assault on a federal law enforcement officer."
Screencap of email from DHS public affairs: Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin:

“U.S. Border Patrol was conducting immigration enforcement operations and when several violent agitators used their vehicles to block in agents in an effort to impede and assault federal officers. In fear of public safety and of law enforcement, officers used their service vehicle to strike a suspect’s vehicle and create an opening. As agents were driving, Deborah Brockman, a U.S. citizen, threw objects at Border Patrol’s car and she was placed under arrest for assault on a federal law enforcement officer.

“This incident is not isolated and reflects a growing and dangerous trend of illegal aliens violently resisting arrest and agitators and criminals ramming cars into our law enforcement officers. These attacks highlight the dangers our law enforcement officers face daily—all while receiving no pay thanks to the Democrats’ government shutdown.”

I was tired after a bicycle trip to Oakland and tried to take BART from 12th street. Elevator took me to the mezzanine, but then where? Damn fence kept me out of the part with elevators to the platform. How about a sign in the elevator directing wheeled passengers to the good entrance?

REI, while a consumer co-op on paper, has been overtaken by a managerial class that values profit and control instead of supporting their hardworking employees. Union/worker representation on the board has been pushed by REI workers and members, but the board has made no effort in allowing this.

“One of the chants that has become ubiquitous at these protests at Broadview is, ‘Love your neighbor, love your God, save your soul and quit your job,’” said Black, who pastors at the First Presbyterian Church of Chicago. “Everybody chants that.” ⚓️

I talked to him yesterday.

He's currently part of a lawsuit against DHS, in part due to this exact moment: religionnews.com/2025/10/07/i...

Today we were at Airbnb HQ in SF with labor & community groups to launch #boycottairbnb. They are suing the City of SF for $120M, threatening cuts to public services, even as the take much-needed housing off the rental market. boycott-airbnb.org (link in bio!) and take the pledge to book elsewhere!

BART should look at green paint stripes for wheelchair, stroller and e-bike users. @aliciatrost.bsky.social @bart.gov
gbdonart.bsky.social
My biggest struggle is with BART’s lack of clear signage of platform to street elevators. My e-bike is 90#, too much to safely wrestle up or down an escalator. Green stripes to show the way? Station diagrams are unclear.
How do wheelchair users manage?

Good reporting on the South Shore raid from South Side weekly here.

Confirms one thing I was told but didn't put in my own piece because I didn't have a second source and it seemed too insane: border agents segregated arrested residents by race

I think something we have to do more of is talk about how kickass a lot of American cities are because right now some people think they’re run by Sharia Law nudists and most of us never thought to counter that argument because it’s stupid and doesn’t make any sense
