Sometimes, it's easy to think that there is no hope for us - and that we don't deserve to prevail

But - even on an inevitably hotter and chaotic planet, with society and economy crumbling - we can not and must not stop fighting for something better

Yesterday, the Greens were celebrating 87,000 members.

Today, they have skyrocketed 93,000 members, making this most likely the fastest growth the party has ever seen before in terms of membership figures.

Let’s also remember that the ECHR has protected British people from abuses of power by its own government.

We must protect the ECHR, not leave it
peterstefanovic.bsky.social
When the Tories were last in office - according to international Human Rights Watch - UK was on course to make list of countries that abuse rather than protect human rights. Is it any wonder they want us to join Russia & Belarus as only European countries outside the ECHR

Kemi Badenoch doesn't seem to understand that the ECHR was set up to protect everyone from people like her.

Kemi Badenoch blames those crossing borders for our problems. It’s a lie aimed to distract.

The real issue is a system protecting the super-rich while nurses & carers can’t make ends meet. Tax wealth fairly, fund public services properly. This is how we give Britain hope again.

Interestingly, my local #Labour MP, #AlexMcIntyre, has distributed leaflets in a #Green colour. Conveniently, he seems to have omitted any mention of the party he represents! 🙄

Didn't the #Tories do the same before the last GE? It's a bit decietful, IMHO.

A leaflet from Labour MP, Alex McIntyre in a green colour similar to the Green Party's colour. He fails to mention which party he represents.

I'd add this. Although human rights are universal, those who most need the shelter they provide are those without money and power and who are politically targeted. The cost of the Supreme Court's choice to "edit the Human Rights Act out of existence" will be born most heavily by them.

It's difficult to read this piece without asking yourself whether you need to be foreign to see England for what it is. It's difficult, too, to read it because doing so is to be reminded, again, how much we will miss Conor Gearty. www.lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v4...

Good morning from Ireland. Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday.

Mist rolls soft through the amber glen,
Where old trees dream of time again.

misty autumn landscape featuring tall, ancient trees in a golden-brown field. In the foreground, leaves with hints of orange and yellow frame the scene from the upper left corner. A large, gnarled tree stands to the right, while another tall tree rises in the distance amid a faint fog. The grass below is tinged with autumn hues, and a line of scattered stones runs across the slope, evoking a quiet, timeless Irish countryside.
This Labour government needs to go and quickly!

Utterly beholden to lobbyists, staggeringly ignorant and dismissive of the natural world: Rachel Reeves might not look or sound like Donald Trump, but she is behaving very much like him. This government is even more of an ecological hazard than the Tories were.
