Lover of Music. Beatles are my boy band for life.
Waits took some time for me. Now he’s a big yes. Yeah, Lennon is out.

It’s just a lovely album. Not a thing off about it.

Nice!

Just watched 6 hours of Get Back and then moving on to Anthology. Can’t go wrong with a full Beatles weekend.

Cymande and Big Star, too. Just about all the ones I’ve listened to from the time period have been impressive for first outing.

Congrats on the move. I’m fond of Waits’ debut. Roxy and Eno will be getting close listens. Love baby Huey and Mayfield. Hathaway’s first is a stunner. I’m a weirdo and like McCartney’s wonky debut. Just watched 6 hours of Get Back (my thanksgiving traditio). Rich said Lennon’s doesn’t count.

A real contender for my 5.

Lots of good picks there. What's shaking with the early 70s for you? Anything tickling your fancy?

I like the way you think but Something going right into Maybe I'm Amazed would be too much love for one album. That Would be Something would be my pick to fill in the Maxwell spot.

After listening to Lô Borges s/t album, this one came up and I thought it was really nice...and it counts:

If they'd only paid him a bit of attention and John had left yoko at home once in a while, we might have had a few more great albums.

I can't.
November 26, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Can't win them all!

Whenever I listen to all things must pass I just think how it would have been even greater as a Beatles album. I'm not down on all their solo work, I just think they were always better together.

Nesmith didn't ring my bell. It was pleasant but didn't knock me out.
November 26, 2025 at 5:15 PM
Holy smokes! That is an awful album cover.
November 26, 2025 at 4:49 PM
Lowlands of Holland and the Blacksmith were my other 2 standouts.

Steeleye Span was lovely. I particularly liked One Night as I Lay on My Bed.

It didn't hurt to rope in a singer of Harris' caliber (and convince her that country was cool when it wasn't). I think he was able to finally focus on the country album he'd been burning to make and that gives it a cohesive sound that the burritos lacked. But hey, I still love some Burritos.

I plan to hit that Steeleye Span up next and then Nesmith. I've got 10 minutes left on GP.

Here they are. I only own 4 of those.

I need to go check out your top picks to make sure I don't miss any.
