#3 - The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien. An absolute classic. I plan to read LOTR later this year and I expect myself to end up loving The Hobbit more now than I did as a child (I wanted to know EVERYTHING then but now I love letting the mystery be).

Yea, I'm reading The Hobbit and they stop at Rivendell on the way and spend like 3 weeks there just chilling.

It's so good! Best of both worlds really. It's there for the sickos (of which I have been one in the past) but stays out of the way for the non-sickos.

And yes I know there are other names for months and all the little calendar details and all that. Trust me, I was DEEP in the lore at one point of my life, but right now, I just want to quickly know how long the dwarves stayed in Laketown or whatever!

I'm hoping to visit this year! I'm just a quick drive and ferry away.
