Tech nerd, legal geek. I spend waaaaay too much time writing contracts (and deciding if crypto is a security or not). Oh, and I travel a lot. Licensed in California, not Canada, because my post history is confusing.
Oh dear God, even NPR is using "slams" in headlines now. Call me old fashioned, but I much prefer terms like "criticizes" and "rebukes." In fact, I haven't seen any slamming going on, just a few whining tweets and grumbling complaints. This epidemic must be stopped - "slams" is getting out of hand.

Mhmm, now add lawyer on top of that and I'm not even certain that certainty certainly exists
I’m a scientist, I’m not comfortable with certainty

"The concept of using 'p**** so wet' as a rhetorical device in a song is neither original nor unique to Plaintiff..."

A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit against Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B over their "WAP" and "Thot Shit" lyrics, and the ruling is hilarious.

Travel really expands your cultural understanding. For example, I never really understood the motivation behind the Spanish slang for testicles until I took this picture.

This is hilarious because they sell "BIG ASS ANTS, APHRODISIAC" on the side of the road in Colombia
the guys who don't want to live in the pod or eat the bugs are actually paying twelve dollars an ounce for powdered ants to add to their creatine smoothies
it's ants: made with whole ants!

@amahnke.bsky.social we listened to so much Lore in the past five weeks of driving that my four year old is now saying "I'm Aaron Mahnke" regularly because he thinks it's funny. He says hi, but he's embarrassed about it

Heaven has no rage like love to Barbie turned, nor hell a fury as a Barbie scorned....
It was the best of Barbies, it was the worst of Barbies, it was the age of Midge, it was the age of Allen, it was the epoch of Weird Barbie, it was the epoch of Ken, it was the season of dance parties, it was the season of thinking about dying...
Barbie! Solitude! Filth! Ugliness! Ashcans and unobtainable dollars! Children screaming under the stairways! Boys sobbing in armies! Old men weeping in the parks!
Barbie! Barbie! Nightmare of Barbie! Barbie the loveless! Mental Barbie! Barbie the heavy judger of men!

Is there a legal list I'm missing out on? ⚖️ Imo if there is, we should have two: the normal one and one that's just nice weird facts, like how blasphemy is still illegal in several states

Oh no, we're actually very boring people who live vicariously through this kind of drama because it turns out that TV lawyers lied to us
corporate lawyers do not love when you post this shit, which is why it’s important to fire all those lawyers because who do they think they are

It's not even business hours yet and I've already used this and my other favorite example: COVID as the reason for needing force majeure clause
Congratulations to all the trademark lawyers who now have a concrete example to point to when clients ask if they *really* need to do a clearance search.

My body dysmorphia definitely didn't come from Barbie, you weirdos, it came from my older brother telling me I looked like the bad guy with the potbelly from Mulan

Spectacular content. The only thing that can save America is people coming together to shit on the lawyers, and every single generation of them (us) deserves it.

Just a reminder: if you find yourself getting a guy you dislike drunk after a party and walking him into the catacombs under false pretenses with the intent to seal him up behind a brick wall, that's almost definitely illegal and also I don't practice criminal law.

Okay, I guess I *kind of* like British Colombia. I wish I was cool enough to be willing to attempt the local slack line, but I'm intimidated by everyone else in Squamish (even though we're all here for the same reason)

I've been following basically every artist I come across because one of my major clients is a newly-formed board game dev/design co that's going to need art in the next couple of months. It's awesome to see everyone's creations. Happy Portfolio Day!

Finally made it to Banff NP, kind of a dream of mine. I found it covered in tourists. I'm hypocritically judging everyone who paid $21 to park at Lake Louise just to take a picture. Especially these losers, taking a lame selfie

My kids travel internationally with me, even during the school year. Wanna know how I do it?! 🤭 ✈️🌎

As it turns out, the real reason Threads isn't permitted to operate in Europe is actually the forced toxic positivity ☺️
Folks I really need Bluesky to succeed, I cannot do this

I love this. 👍 is absolutely a statement of acquiescence. If he wanted to state he received it, he should have said "received 👍" like a normal person, duh

Sometimes my whole work-and-dispersed-camping-at-the-same-time thing sucks because our solar shower breaks and I have to finish my shower with ice cold water in a squirt bottle, but other times it's very nice. Definitely planning to go back to the jet setting version in the fall though

This past winter, I went to the Louvre for the first time. It was overwhelming with excess. There's an entire hall that consists solely of empty Egyptian sarcophagi. At what point does a museum have a responsibility or obligation to, like, not do that?

Happy 4th, fellow Americans! In the most patriotic display of nationalistic chauvinism possible, I'm celebrating our great country's independence day from our northernmost territory, Canada! (It's a family tradition)

I decided to go to western Alberta for a few weeks without doing any research because I like to live dangerously. I have questions, like "why is a parking pass $90 for public land" and "who decided to charge for dispersed camping" and "How can a place actually hate poor people more than California"

The best part of work-from-home is that I can "work from home" where "home" is a Starbucks near a campground in Ontario and "work" involves being an hour late because I decided to visit an amethyst mine and made out like a bandit 💎
