You may have heard that there’s a measles outbreak in Arizona. You may not have heard that 97% of the cases were unvaccinated, and that measles continues to spread in the state.

Just guessing here, but I suspect the White House is pushing so hard for wars of conquest on multiple fronts because they see their support collapsing ahead of the midterms and worry they won't get another shot. An example of how tyrants become more dangerous as they get weaker, not less.

One of the ironies of today is that while ousting Maduro was the ostensible reason for invading 🇻🇪, the calculation was to reassert hemispheric dominance by claiming 🇻🇪 resources while simultaneously denying them to 🇨🇳…

… & thus driving allies to hedge American aggression by cutting deals with China.
Just landed in Beijing.

The relationship between Canada and China has created opportunities and prosperity on both sides of the Pacific.

We’re ready to build a new partnership — one that builds on the best of our past, and responds to the challenges of today.

The thing that really makes Minneapolis different, other than the fact that they straight up murdered someone, is that they've dropped all pretense that this is just about immigration. The state has declared war on its own people, or at least those people who live in cities.

i want to add to this:

something i've not seen in the discussions happening: her car accelerated *after he shot her*, as a consequence of his shooting.

so if he's got a bruise, it's because of his own actions
they knew we'd clock "hematoma" for what it is
health care lawyer here:

CBS 'news' reports that: "Jonathan Ross, suffered internal bleeding to the torso following the incident..."

Here's the thing, that can mean 'a bruise' — it just sounds much more dramatic to call it "internal bleeding to the torso"

SHOUT THIS FROM EVERY ROOFTOP.

This is just policing, period. More overt in some ways. Most cops at least prefer to do state violence where they aren't going to be easily seen. But no real difference. Same rotten roots of the same rotten tree with rotten apples galore. There is no fixing this.
Respectfully, to the people saying abolition is wrong because we need to incarcerate ICE ghouls, I disagree.

ICE proves why Abolition is necessary, because any armed paramilitary force will eventually turn into what ICE is now.

We know this because so many police departments already did.

c'mon down to the meat packing plant, where i've watched a dozen manly man chuds get their work ethic humiliated by immigrants and break within a week. good times.
Fun fact: The first "masculinity crisis" (in the early 1960s) supposedly stemmed from the fact that men increasingly were employed in office jobs rather than doing manual labor on the family farm. Make Men Dig Ditches Again
So many problems today are downstream from guys LARPing masculinity because they're terminally ashamed that their job is touching computers.

That said, I think we need to stress the obligation of reporters to protect their sources against an administration that does not care about press freedom. A physical search should yield nothing usable in identifying a source.
The First Amendment protects journalists who receive and report information of public concern even if the source broke the law. Raiding a reporter’s home is an extraordinary step that raises serious press-freedom concerns.

Just completely useless for this moment, and it's becoming increasingly clear that that's by design.
MS NOW: Why haven't you gotten a dozen Dem senators & NYC cops, flown to Minneapolis & said to the guys wearing masks 'We've brought people who know how to operate'

SCHUMER: You're right. We need police officers to tell ICE, 'You don't know what the hell you're doing. You need real police training'

They want to kill.
