Cameroon my country has its presidential election this coming Sunday. The 92 year old president who has been in power 42 years is running again for a 7 year term. The only people who think having an authoritarian in power is "fun" have never lived under dictatorship. He will likely "win" again.

Ha! It looks like Avi Loeb silently edited his Medium post about the Perseverance Navcam images, after being called out for his wrong interpretation.
While he previously claimed the image was of 3I/Atlas, he now says the claim came from "social media". 🔭

A paragraph about the Navcam image that claimed the image is of 3I/Atlas was edited to say "This was claimed on social media to be an image" of the comet

A paragraph that previously only mentioned the object creating the source could be much closer to the camera than Atlas was extended with a speculation that it could be one of the Martian moons.

Ich möchte von denjenigen Politiker*innen, die jetzt bei der Reform des Bürgergelds die Möglichkeit von 100%-Sanktionen beschließen, obwohl das BVerfG-Urteil das als Verstoß gegen die Menschenwürde einstuft, nie mehr Klagen über Demokratieverdrossenheit hören.

Die Regeln beim Bürgergeld sollen strenger werden. Was ändert sich?

Anscheinend sind die Vorwürfe gegen die Lehrerin schon lange bekannt: Bereits im Juni 2024 haben Eltern Dienstaufsichtsbeschwerde gegen sie eingereicht, diese wurde jedoch vom saarländischen Bildungsministerium abgelehnt - neun(!) Monate später. www.saarbruecker-zeitung.de/saarland/kir...

Guter Punkt. Da hat mich dann auf die evt. falsche Spur geführt, dass die Korrektur das besser/schlechter dastehen ja gerade nicht auf ein vorher-nachher, sondern auf E-Auto vs Verbrenner bezieht. Interessant wäre jetzt noch, was denn nun in dem Reiche-Brief steht…

Wenn ich das lese, frage ich mich, wie Regieren aussehen würde, wenn in einer solchen Sitzung nicht (nur) die Unternehmens-Lobbyistin (pardon, Mittelstandsvertreterin) sondern auch jemand am Tisch säße, der/die einen realistischen Blick auf Bürgergeldempfänger*innen und deren Nöte liefern kann.

I'm wondering how representative the effort for the last German elections is in that diagram. Given that the elections were called rather surprisingly, and were known only 3 months and 7 weeks in advance. A much more limited timeframe for interference than for election dates known years in advance.
