At this time, between Palm Sunday and Easter, I am remembering my favourite commentary about Jesus ever:
“Jesus asked:
Who is religion forgetting?
Who is power oppressing?
And he collected, protected, ate with them, and marched with them towards empire.”
- Glennon Doyle

For fun today I showed my kids the famous 1999 selective attention test & anyway, it unexpectedly appears to have deeply disturbed my 4yo.
Because he missed the gorilla on the first viewing, he is now terrified that a gorilla may appear out of nowhere at any time.
Took an hour to get him to sleep.

It’s National Poetry Month. Here’s a simple mashup I made, mixing Zeinab Shaath’s 1973 “The Urgent Call of Palestine” with Refaat Alareer’s “If I Must Die,” as read by the legendary actor Brian Cox. The message in each remains as urgent as ever. #zeinabshaath #theurgentcallofpalestine #refaatalareer

More than 50,000 people in Gaza are dead. 114,000 have been wounded — two-thirds of whom are women & children. The entire infrastructure has been destroyed.
Much of that devastation has been done with bombs that the U.S. supplied to the Netanyahu war machine. We are complicit.

Just started a rewatch of The Great British Baking Show (#bakeoff) and laughed out loud at how young Paul Hollywood looks - he’s like a spiky haired, blue-eyed baby! @paulhollywood.bsky.social you’ve kept it tight mate, I’ll say that 😊

"Schools should teach digital literacy… There should be components like on how AI works, what happens to personal data … and how to manage all of the privacy settings effectively," Shrestha said. "If young people understand all the privacy risks, they can advocate for their own digital rights."
Dr. Ajay Shrestha, a VIU Computer Science Professor, speaks to the Nanaimo News Bulletin about his study called Safeguarding Tomorrow’s Data Landscape. It examines how teens and young adults think about artificial intelligence. Read the article @ www.nanaimobulletin.com/local-news/y...

It has now been 30 days with NO humanitarian aid getting into Gaza.
No food, no water, no medicine, no fuel.
That is barbaric. The U.S. must end our complicity in these atrocities.

Too many Americans don't understand, at a basic level, *why* the Constitution requires due process when the government deprives anyone of their life, liberty, or property.
