Iran is now the 8th Muslim-majority country the United States has bombed and or invaded in the last fifteen years. So, from Obama, to Trump, to Biden, to Trump again. Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Libya, Syria, Pakistan, Yemen, and now Iran.

In which Dr. Rad traces a consistent editorial pattern: every time an international body (e.g., Francesca Albanese, Amnesty, or the UN) confirms genocidal acts, Western media frames it as an “accusation” and immediately platforms Israel’s rebuttal. www.newarab.com/opinion/gaza...
Gaza genocide: 2 years of Western media stenographing for Israel
Western media has spent 2 years denying Gaza’s genocide, platforming Israel’s lies, & enabling ongoing violence through silence & distortion, writes Assal Rad.

lol, Erdogan is just like hummus. He'll blend into anything if it gets him on the table.

It certainly seems like Israel and Turkey are playing on the same team. 🤔

Dozens of civil rights and education groups, including the ACLU, CAIR, Jewish Voice for Peace, have opposed using the IHRA definition in law for this reason. Because the law authorizes state investigations, a single complaint could lead to scrutiny or punishment for teaching about Gaza.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed AB 715 into law. The law references the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism. That definition includes examples such as “claiming that the existence of Israel is a racist endeavor."

Whether in Iran or Venezuela, the objective for the U.S. is the same: force national economies open to foreign capital, sever alliances with anti-imperialist blocs, and crush any model of development that isn’t subordinate to Western finance. 💰

That's really it.

What’s unfolding isn’t a civil war anymore. It’s a basically a managed process of dismemberment. Every “security zone,” “buffer region,” and “administrative area” is a new border drawn by outside hands. This was always the plan: divide, exhaust, contain.
melangell.bsky.social
Now HTS (Jolani’s faction) and the Kurdish SDF are fighting each other and are/were both backed, at different times, by Washington’s allies. People who warned this would happen were called “Assadists" for simply recognizing how empire works.
melangell.bsky.social
The logic is painfully familiar. Destroy the state, empower client militias, and call it stabilization! Figures like Jolani, once denounced as Al Qaeda’s man in Syria, are now treated as political intermediaries. NATO once armed his enemies; now it negotiates through him, of course.

Turkey’s new “administrative division” plan for Syria is about carving the country into manageable pieces, each overseen by foreign powers and local proxies who answer to them. Israel floated the same idea back in January: a cantonized Syria, to "ensure security” along its northern border.

I appreciate he went there.

Yes! Looking at it, I'm 110% on board re: your class.

This video is hilarious on the surface until you register the sheer psychological gymnastics required to defend Zionism. Then it's just really, really depressing.

Kat is Palestinian and she couldn’t even say “Palestinian.” To call it difficult to witness statements like this amid an ongoing genocide would be an understatement and understanding the rhetorical or political logic behind how Zohran and Kat speak does not mitigate the harm.

Today marks the two-year anniversary of the horrific October 7 attack.

As we mourn the 1,218 lives lost that day, let us also keep alive the dream of a lasting peace and a better future for all.

Ceasefire now. Every hostage must come home. And a safer world for everyone.

Craig Mokhiber is a former senior United Nations human rights lawyer who resigned in October 2023 after condemning Israel’s assault on Gaza as a “textbook case of genocide.” His segment is important, too.

Hope these provide some useful and fair criticism of Mamdani's response.

I am directly quoting Dr. Rania Masri. Here is her segment.

So, this is a lie. 1,100 Israelis were not killed by Hamas; the vast majority of Israelis were killed by Israelis. It has been proven, without a doubt, that Israeli forces used the Hannibal Directive. Very spiritually Obama here, man.

My statement on the two year anniversary of October 7, 2023.
“Two years ago today, Hamas carried out a horrific war crime, killing more than 1,100 Israelis and kidnapping 250 more. I mourn these lives and pray for the safe return of every hostage still held and for every family whose lives were torn apart by these atrocities.

In the aftermath of that day, Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Israeli government launched a genocidal war: adeath toll that now far exceeds 67,000; with the Israeli military bombing homes, hospitals, and schools into rubble. Every day in Gaza has become a place where grief itself has run out of language. I mourn these lives and pray for the families that have been shattered. Our government has been complicit through it all.

This must end. The occupation and apartheid must end. Peace must be pursued through diplomacy, not war crimes, and our government must act to end these atrocities and hold those responsible to account.

These last two years have demonstrated the very worst of humanity. We must answer it by modeling the very best: a relentless pursuit of our higher ideals and an unwavering commitment to universal human rights.”

October 7 didn’t come from nowhere. It came from 75 years of colonial violence and Palestinian people refusing to die quietly.
melangell.bsky.social
At the same time, Save the Children reported Palestinian minors being tortured and sexually abused in Israeli military jails.

All of this happened within seven months before October 7, layered on top of decades of occupation, dispossession, blockade, and apartheid.
melangell.bsky.social
By June, settlers who were backed by the Israeli army launched five days of attacks that destroyed over a dozen Palestinian villages, and this paved the way for 4,500 new illegal settlements in the West Bank.

By July 2023, Israel conducted its largest West Bank raid in 20 years.
melangell.bsky.social
That same year, Amnesty recorded the highest number of Palestinian children killed in the West Bank in two decades.

March 2023, Israeli settlers carried out the Huwara pogroms. Finance Minister Smotrich praised the violence and called for Huwara to be “wiped out.”

All before October 7.
melangell.bsky.social
So, maybe you're reading this and asking "What happened before October 7?" Well, in early 2023, months before October 7, Israel launched Operation Shield and Arrow. It was a five-day bombing campaign on Gaza that killed entire families; the strikes hit homes, schools, and refugee camps.
