I resigned my teaching job yesterday. Sent an email to my principal. Let him know. He has not responded. And today I received an email from the district with the contract release request form along with some vaguely threatening language. Just another reminder of how dehumanizing this profession is.

I met a woman today who didn’t know the names of her twins’ teachers (the kids attend the middle school where I teach). Just another step toward the complete dehumanization of teachers. I have known the names of all my kids’ teachers since my son started kindergarten in 2010. It matters.
