Bacon grease makes everything better
Does everyone’s teenage daughter refuse to carry a bag/purse with necessities or is this my own personal hell?

You need more than your phone and AirPods. I am not an on demand delivery service. 🫠

My purse “necessities” include a travel room spray, so I cannot relate 😂

It all started in 1955 with a misprint in a Colorado newspaper and a call to Col. Harry Shoup's secret military hotline. Shoup played along with the tiny voice who called, and a tradition was born. From the NPR archives.
NORAD's Santa Tracker began with a typo and a good sport

I found a mouse this morning in my kitchen. I HAVE TWO CATS. What the hell?

I was able to yeet him out the door. That mouse had silky fur and a fat ass from eating the birdseed in my kitchen.

Doesn’t he know that I have things to do? I do not have time to chase his potential family around. Ugh

Time to take a break and pick out my med calendar stickers to wrap up the year. 😌I’m going back to themes each week.

My 2026 calendar is already on the way.

About to start putting flyers around work asking scientists if they have experience with a particular problem that I’m experiencing.

DO YOU WORK IN GENE EXPRESSION? CAN I BUY YOU LUNCH AND PEPPER YOU WITH QUESTIONS?

Met my first holiday Karen of the season.

I do not enjoy arguing with strangers, but this called for a public shaming.

Don’t tell a retail worker how to do their job and then double down by saying their coworkers, who are obviously busy, are “doing nothing.”

This is Millie. She just learned how to sled. Hopes you brought a second land frisbee, because she will not be taking turns. 13/10 (TT: millietheredlab)

I love this song. The band is so weird in the best way.

I may go to NYC specifically to see this adorable band, CHOO CHOO.

I planned a 1 day trip to visit the National Museum of African-American Music in Nashville, so don’t think I won’t. (It’s amazing. Go see it.)

I got some in shell mixed nuts for the holidays. I left a few for the dickhead squirrel who digs up my flowers.

I left them far from my potted plants

I’m in a Kansas Costco (no booze) so I guess I’ll look at cheese or something while I’m waiting for my hearing aids.

Wear the good underwear
Do you put on your good underwear for the dermatologist? How full body is a full body check?

I have less than helpful Christmas gift lists from a soon-to-be 16 yo and a 13 yo.

16 yo is a girly girl. Asked for “car stuff”

13 yo is the hard one. Needs an electronics intervention so something that isn’t a video game. No interest in clothes, jewelry, or cologne/perfume.

Ideas? 😬

Does the ST costume designer hate Millie Bobby Brown? Someone does.

Why did they make her wear this awful outfit for S5E1-E4? This is a one scene outfit. Free her! 😭

Everyone else looks good. You could argue that they gave Dustin a bad mullet, but he just looks like he’s from my hometown.

The Statewide Lake Assessment Program is run by the University of Missouri and tests water from 65 lakes each year to understand trends in things like farm runoff and harmful algae blooms. (@stlpublicradio.bsky.social)
Missouri will lose a 50-year-old program that tests lake water after federal funding cuts
The program provides a long-term look at water quality in some of Missouri's most famous lakes. It will end in 2027 after a state agency will no longer provide federal funding.

I’m sure Tubi has a Christmas movie section, but I’m not going to look for it yet.

Fuck it! I’m going back to CDs and adding them to my Apple Music like it’s 2004. My external drive will be here on Tuesday.

Alton Ellis Sh-Boom not being on either of my streaming services was the final straw. Do you know where it is though? My garage.

(I still have Apple Music streaming)

Some psychopath set the office temperature to 74.

Which leads me to the question, what is the best office temp?

I spent 2 1/2 hours in traffic this morning and then promptly got stuck in my own driveway when I got home at 9:30pm. ✌️

Took me about 30 minutes to get myself out with a couple of outdoor rugs, salt, and shoveling.

I’m going to have a whiskey now

The lady sitting by to me at lunch was venting about her partner on the phone. She was talking so fast that it was like she was rapping. I was like

And I’m totally on her side. He called her annoying when she asked for help with their baby on the middle of the night. He’s lucky to be alive.

I awoke to a temperature of 22℉ ( aka -5℃), & my mind went immediately to soup. Specifically, this Lobster/Crab Bisque from Fannie Farmer's Cookbook (1965). While it's a bit of a splurge, it's simple and warming. What do you think? Would you like a cup or a bowl today?🍽️ 🍜 #FoodSky #RecipeOfTheDay

I’m really glad I filled up my gas tank last night in anticipation of the snow. Maybe I should call my dad so he can be proud of me too. 😂

I’ve been on the same mile of I35 since 10 AM. My car is currently in park. 🫠
