As you’re preparing for your Thanksgiving meal, remember the skilled work it took to get that food to your grocery store.

Tell us your favorite Thanksgiving dish, and we can share some of what we know about the work behind the ingredients.

Hey @thebrianlehrershow.bsky.social, the CRC spokesperson said that the mayor only appoints 1 person on the Planning commission, but the website says the mayor appoints 6 members and the chair of the commission, while BPs/Public Advocate each appoint 1 person. Can you mention on air to clarify?

Taking note that this US Congressman Dan Goldman email made sure to give NY State Senator Andrew Gounardes his official title, but not City Councilmember Alexa Avilés.

This is becoming more and more relevant by the day.
History shows that stripping the rights of one disfavored group is always just pretext for a larger aim of stripping the rights of others.

The city needs to rebrand new-build "affordable housing" as "rent-stabilized housing" because I'm tired of politicians using "affordable for who?" as an applause line at forums! And if you're going to talk about a lower AMI, you should have to explain how to fund the difference!

The single most important thing you can do, by a parsec, is show up at a town hall w/ your GOP member and talk to them face to face.

Heroes like @indivisible.org helped organize last time. People drove for hours to spend just a few minutes talking to their members. But we saved lives because of it.

The next most important thing you can do is call your GOP member's office every single day. When I worked in the Senate, in every single weekly all-staff meeting, we went over the phone calls we'd received.

A handful of artists—from established celebrity artists AND independent—are protesting the current admin by declining invitations and scheduled performances at the Kennedy Center. With that, I now question the values of artists who do not reconsider and reschedule their events there.

Calling Hochul back to say this voter has decided, and as a NYC resident I don't want a known compromised mayor in office. The attendant who answered said the office has also been receiving a lot of messages in support of firing Adams. Hochul's office #: (518) 474-8390
Eight Black state legislators ask Hochul not to remove Adams - “our communities will never forget it” if she does and she should leave it up to voters.

Led by Brooklyn Dems leader Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn, list also includes lawmakers close to Jeffries and Meeks.

Called her office, the attendant who answered said they have been fielding a bunch of calls to support Congestion Pricing. Keep calling eh? (518) 474-8390
“The cameras are staying on,” says Hochul.

This should come directly out of the existing NYPD budget. Taxpayers (which includes undocu folkx btw!) should not be responsible for this. Unacceptable.

Do we need to draft a law in the city charter to make this happen? State bill?
The city paid more than $200 million to settle police misconduct lawsuits in 2024, the most since at least 2018, according to a Legal Aid analysis.

The 2024 figure is also $89 million more than the city paid out in 2023, the analysis finds.

I follow French politics a lot, as many of you know. Any effort for mass layoffs of public sector employees there would create such huge strikes and marches, the level of disruption and paralysis would be biblical.

I keep seeing this. Guys, their literal job is to figure out what to do. They are not helpless even if they are not the majority. I really hope we can stop treating some of the most powerful people in the world as helpless and without sentience.
