Drinking tea, reading books, photographing birds, probably napping

That nerd kid who liked pretty much everything and never grew out of it
a) Rebecca's thread is A++
b) yeah ok I'm a squid gal but can we talk whale size... this is a whale for whom a GIANT SQUID is a LITERAL MOUTHFUL
c) the footage is rare & exciting for us, but it's just tuesday snacktime for sperm whales. this mama could eat 7-8 giant squid PER DAY 🧪🦑🌊
I get that the news cycle is packed right now, but I just heard from a colleague at the Smithsonian that this is fully a GIANT SQUID BEING EATEN BY A SPERM WHALE and it’s possibly the first ever confirmed video according to a friend at NOAA

There was an almighty racket above my house one day, and I came out to find a flock of metallic starlings having a grand old time in the poinsettia tree. I was lucky enough to get the beautiful sheen of their feathers in the pics I took.

A little thread, now the cat is finally out of the bag and I’m allowed to talk about it:
Well, it’s finally public. I’ve been keeping this secret for well over a year. Sadly, due to a health condition similar to my own, Jeremy can no longer drive Mary due to pain & fatigue as she’s a very heavy old car with no power steering. He let me know she’d be going up for sale in the spring… 🧵

I can't hide it. I love trees, forests and taking photos of them. Feel free to share your photos of trees in the comments, such that we and other people can enjoy the beauty of them.

Reflections. Loch Chon on a still sunrise. The wind soon picks up at this loch so still conditions tend to be neither regular or long lasting in my experience. I spent a few minutes frantically moving around the shore until I settled on this composition.

Every year in spring I spend a night at a very dry campsite in North Queensland, and during the afternoon a flock of galahs (and multiple other birds) always comes down to the campsite to drink from the park's leaky taps. It makes for a lovely afternoon bird watching

When the landscape split into a dual world made of light & darkness…
This is Segla mountain in Senja, captured in 2018, on a photo trip on the island. We camped upthere with crazy wind but got well rewarded with light feast in the morning 😊

Another bird picture - this is one of a flock of pelicans local to me, and I have many, many photos of them. When I was a small child pelicans frightened me, because I genuinely thought they might try to eat me up.

It took me more than 4 years to capture a scene I could only dream of. A magnificent Condor soars above the peaks of Argentina's Mount Fitz Roy, as they are spot lit in beautiful morning light. 🪶
