Baked a browned butter gâteau magique (magic cake). It’s a French dessert with 7 basic ingredients and the magic is in what happens to this cake when you put it together and it separates into 3 distinctive layers. The bottom is firm, the middle custardy, and then a puffy soufflé crown. It’s divine.

Everything is terrible so here’s a picture of my sweet but incredibly mischievous puppy, Roxie. She got spayed last week and instead of the cone of shame, she has that silly donut around her neck. It makes me smile every time I see it and I hope it does the same for you.
