Uh. I woke up to about 200 more followers than I had when I went to bed. So. Hello.

I should add, I talk a lot about romance novels. And my favorite movies are The Sound of Music and While You Were Sleeping.

I might talk a lot about capybaras, specifically the one who was in Top Gun Maverick.

This is my annual recommendation of one of my favorite romance novellas ever, A Midnight Feast by Emma Barry and Genevieve Turner. It’s a marriage in trouble set against the backdrop of the 1960s space race between astronaut Mitch and his frustrated wife Margie left alone over Thanksgiving weekend.

I have cooked a lot of things today including, back by special demand,
tear + share apple fritter focaccia. My kid loved it so much the last time I made it, she begged me to make it again for thanksgiving and even offered to help.

Started prepping for Thursday and my 15 yo made the cranberry sauce (we have homemade and the ridged canned version on our table since we are a family divided on that). It’s great having a kid who is willing to help with the cooking.

I read this and reviewed it for smexy (review will drop tomorrow) and it was, in typical Olivia fashion, delightful and charming and hilarious and witty and tender and sweet.
SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE is warm, cozy, & out today. I hope you love it! 💗

The story: A cranky baker's erroneous obituary brings the woman who got away back into his life--& now he needs to convince her to stay.
The heat level: steamy!
The baked goods: plentiful!

I finished my Goodreads reading challenge last night with 37 days left to go. Which is both a reflection on how much of this year has been me completely disassociating from reality through romance novels and…well, no, that’s it, actually.

When you get the cutest little surprise in the mail but you don’t know who to thank bc they had it shipped directly from the shop they ordered it from. Whoever it is surely knows about my deep and abiding love for While You Were Sleeping.

A question for readers of The Palace of Rogues series by Julie Anne Long: do we think she’ll give us a Dot/Pike book? Or even a novella? They’re clearly endgame, right?

An entire speech on decorum from Sean from MTVs The Real World whose own party did a whole insurrection four years ago.

All of the grocery shopping is done (I went super early this morning and it was already quite crowded) and I don’t plan to leave my house until Sunday when we have to go celebrate my FIL’s bday.

I need my kid to wake up and learn about both McLaren drivers being DQd from last night’s Vegas Grand Prix bc yes, we are a F1 family and holy moly she will have a lot to say about it. Verstappen is now 24 points away from the drivers championship lead (I mean, so is Piastri but he’s fallen apart).

The most annoying thing when you’re reading a romance and up until the first 75%, it’s a perfectly good 4 star read and then one of the MCs makes such a bad decision that the rating plummets all the way down to a 2 star read. Irritated over this beyond belief right now.

Boy that mercury is retrograding hard.
This is the first time I’ve seen him wear something like this… I think it’s a knit scarf, but he probably didn’t have any turtleneck sweaters in his closet.

Gotta see if @dieworkwear.bsky.social weighed in.

The missing fiancee has escaped her horrible fiancee after he rapes her and the way the romance unfolds between Christian and Aurelie is so beautiful and epic and tender.

Whoops, finished another Palace of Rogues book and forgot to post about it.

This was excellent, a bit darker than the previous ones and both an instalove and also a slow burn between a wrongfully imprisoned English spy hired to find the fiancee of the man who he
