There’s a built in intimacy to the way this show is shot (perhaps due to budget constraints) that another show with a bigger budget couldn’t duplicate. It’s not a lack of polish, but there are certain scenes in which I, as the audience, almost feel like a voyeur (not referring to the sex scenes).

In a lot of ways, Hudson Williams has to show a lot more with very few words or gestures and the way he encapsulates Shane repressing his emotions and that somehow managing to be his tell, it’s just a masterclass performance.

I know everyone wants to talk about the sex scenes and how hot it is and yes, the show is absolutely scorching, but these two actors also nailed the emotional beats of this show and their respective characters with such beautiful specificity.

Don’t make him mad is like “well, he’s acting like a recalcitrant toddler so we’ll just treat him like one!”

I am tired of showing grace to people who would never in a million years show me even an iota of kindness and I’m also tired of being told to show grace to these people.

I ran into one of my high school bullies during law school. It was summer and I had an internship and was at the courthouse to drop off some paperwork for my boss. He was there to pee into a cup for his probation officer. Later on, he attempted to friend me on FB.
