This keeps growing, but a current list of my book events for the next couple of months.
After a bit of a short story dry spell, I've sold two in the last month and sold a third about a month before that.

I had no idea Lance Reddick played Zeus in the Percy Jackson TV series and when we got to his reveal, I cried a little.

Hey so, today is my last day at Crystal Dynamics apparently. I joined the company in 2018 to work on Marvel's Avengers and it's been the longest (and best) job I've ever had. It now means I'm looking for work, so if you know of any senior writer/narrative designer positions please send them my way.

If you want I know more about this listen to the Sold a Story podcast.

I'm not quite willing to call what happen a grift, because I think initial intentions weren't that, but it basically became one overtime because of how financially invested we became in teaching reading the wrong way.

Recently someone said that people don't really like fall, they like the beginning of fall. But not November.

And I don't know if it's just that we're having a nice one this year, but I am still loving fall eleven days into November.

If your game has voice acting, then working with the voice actors is half of your writing process. It's not complete until you've heard it interpreted and reimagined by a voice actor. And they always reimagine it in ways that elevate the writing, in ways you never would have imagined yourself.

I did a fun lecture on what the different parts of a creative story engine are (with a focus on games, but could be broadly applied to books, shows, etc) out at DigiPen today, and though it went well, I was also reminded that my narrative touchstones are increasingly different than The Youth's.

One of our country's greatest war criminals just died, the president is arguing with himself about whether or not to let 40 million people starve, and there is an actual courtroom drama about a five dollar footlong.

How are any of us supposed to maintain emotional regulation.

This is truly upsetting. Teen Vogue's political work has been top notch.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

Went to one of the KPop Demon Hunters sing-alongs and it was pure joy. The kids all went to the front of the screen in the credits and erupted into dance.

you know I've fully lost the plot when I'm like "bro, you gotta trust me, you have to buy this game because of the sound design."

but no, seriously.
We are asking people to play Saturnalia because it gave us terror goosebumps before we left the main menu and deserves that more people succumb to it. Also it's like $4 with the current Steam sale, so what is there to lose besides your dwindling sanity?
Saturnalia is a deeply scary game you should give a try for Halloween
