You cannot play a more sloppy game than Michigan just did and win. Losing by a 5 turnover margin! But the last second FG to win was fitting after the best FG kicker in the country missed two others earlier! Wild. #GoBlue 〽️🏈

Still seems weird/wild to me that Apple might shift to a Pro-only fall iPhone release strategy. Wouldn't it make more sense to shift the iPhone Air to the spring for some symmetrical options? spyglass.org/iphone-air-e...

Clear that what I wrote about the freak out over Microsoft's data center "pullback" last February seems correct. It wasn't a pullback, it was a pause to hand-off OpenAI and reassess their own needs... Foot is back on the gas now. spyglass.org/ai-data-cent...

Naturally, a whole day after writing about the divergence of OpenAI and Anthropic, noting specifically that the latter isn't building their own data centers (in ways short-term good and potentially long-term bad), they announce their first data center.

This time is different™ – because the AI build-out is so clearly a bubble. In fact, I believe the companies involved not only know this – I mean, how could you not? – but are now actually *leveraging* this reality. 🫧

Yes, it's a bubble. Yes, that may be a good thing. Yes, it will hurt.

For all the fiscal issues the UK has, the constant budget changes are absolutely bonkers. It so obviously leads to whack-a-mole policy rather than effective strategic planning. It also makes investment so much harder. A clear doom loop.
