It's becoming clear that the dystopian threat of AI is not Skynet, it's the world's worst people at all levels of society being given the tools to make our world worse and worse with almost no effort.

My initial thought when ChatGPT came out is that it's main use was going to be wasting all our time. That's turned out to be pretty accurate. No matter what AI can hypothetically do, in practice it is a corner cutting technology used to save you time while wasting everyone else's time.
