Extra funny when you think about how Sinners, which features Michael B. Jordan gunning down Klansmen in broad daylight in slow-mo, is the 10th highest-grossing R-rated film of all time - higher than The Hangover, 300, Logan, John Wick 4, etc....

SCOOP: Last year, Ubisoft cancelled an Assassin's Creed game set during Reconstruction. Was to feature a Black Assassin who, among other things, fought the rise of the Klan

Sources: Leadership nixed it over concerns re: U.S. political climate, backlash to Yasuke

All of it supremely wicked...

Just finished and absolutely LOVED The October Film Haunt by @michaelwehunt.bsky.social. Cosmic horror cult slasher by way of found footage. Lots going on here, and all of it is supremely wicked.

Oh man, I’m honored you read that! Full review incoming soon, if I can somehow distill the many thoughts I have. Absolutely fucking loved it!

#buymybooks THE BIG ONE is one-day old. One day of explosions, tentacles, and exploding tentacles. You really should check it out if you’re one of those weirdos (cool people) who likes big dumb heart on the sleeve action AND bleak, brain-blistering cosmic horror in equal measure.

I am such a huge Sarah Read fan (her collection Out of Water is phenomenal), and I'm so grateful to have a blurb from her for Cyanide Constellations.

A little less than two weeks to go! You can also now order signed paperbacks!

Sounds like we just need to take the rest of the week off to cope with this tragedy and work on fixing this oversight.

HOLY CRAP! We may not be getting the STAR TREK: LEGACY TV series, but it sure does look like @daytonward.bsky.social is officially taking us beyond the series finale of PICARD with TO DEFY FATE, out in April. This sounds epic!

STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS
-RING OF FIRE-

available in hardcover, eBook, and unabridged digital audiobook formats wherever new books are sold

SNW RING OF FIRE Cover Alt-Text for Bluesky

Book cover for STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS – RING OF FIRE by New York Times Bestselling Author David Mack.

Illustration has a purple-ish space starfield background; very prominent in the center is a black hole surrounded by a reddish-orange-yellow halo of gravitationally distorted light (the titular “ring of fire”). Ghosted and floating in front of this cosmic horror in a pyramid formation are Nurse Christine Chapel (Jess Bush), lower left; first officer Lieutenant Commander Una Chin-Riley (Rebecca Romijn), middle left; Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount), top center; science officer Lieutenant Spock (Ethan Peck), middle right; and security officer Lieutenant La'An Noonien-Singh, lower right, brandishing a phaser like the awesome badass she is. It’s a truly badass cover, thought it would have been nice if they’d made my name bigger, but whatever.

Is that really a lie, though?

Democrats should go on TV to say they need to impeach Trump because of the cocaine-fueled pedophilia parties that he holds in the East Room of the White House with his friends in MS-13.

I mean, if he gets to lie shamelessly, why not them?

Similar situation on my end, only with pie. At least my shift is up in another 15 minutes. No pie to be had when I get home, though... 😭

I'll repeat this until the LLMs bubble finally bursts: We were told NFTs were "the future" "here to stay" and "inevitable"

Where's that market now.

Jason Blum's take on AI sucks. an AI takeover isn't inevitable, and treating it as such (while also referring to filmmaking as "content creation," smdh) helps AI companies promote the lie that their deeply unprofitable, destructive tech is more powerful and useful than it actually is.

how anyone can see this as anything but a perfect example as to why billionaires & corporations should be taxed is bonkers to me. when you suffer, the rich strive. while you bleed, they benefit. that’s how the entire system is devised.

37 states have passed legislation specifically granting sales tax exemptions for data centers.

Among the beneficiaries of these exemptions are Amazon, Meta and Google, all companies worth over $1 trillion.

Trump: "We took the freedom of speech away because that's been through the courts and the courts said you have freedom of speech, but what has happened is when they burn a flag it agitates and irritates crowds."

I probably sold like five or six books because of it. Made some friends, too! And only a few of them have ghosted and/or blocked me in the years since, so that's probably a win, I guess, maybe, I dunno.

Data centers are receiving billions in state tax exemptions.

These centers, many owned by Big Tech giants, are driving up electric bills and sucking up huge amounts of water.

AI is boosting the stock portfolios of the richest Americans while everyone else pays the price.
