Q: Have you given any more thought to possibly suspending habeas corpus?

TRUMP: Suspending who?

Q: Habeas corpus

TRUMP: I don't know. I'd rather leave that to Kristi.

it always blows my mind when these people act like “the left just calls everyone nazis” these days and it’s like no. we’re calling nazis nazis! there just happens to be a lot of them in and around the government these days!

More history from this Nazi adulated by the Trump team. These are explicit, proud Nazis who scream and cry and call every referee they can find when you quote their Nazism back to them.
Multiple tweets from Nazi Jack Posobiec in 2016 making "jokes" involving the Nazi code "1488."

lol this rules this is like an adult swim show
"Big news in the world of show business," Metaxas began the first episode. "Harrison Ford will be returning for a fifth Indiana Jones movie. Yeah. In this one Harrison will find an ancient artifact ….. by looking in the mirror."
There were a few titters from the audience, and scattered applause. Metaxas, appearing nervous, continued with the one-liners:
"Barbie's longtime companion, Ken, just turned 61 years old. Yeah. And he said the perfect gift for his birthday would be to finally get a prostate."
This time there were some audible groans.
Metaxas stuck at it.

Stephen Miller said the quiet part out loud. Trump has “plenary authority,” then suddenly went silent. Their plan wasn’t to be public yet. Clearly, someone hit the panic button in his earpiece.

It gets weirder: CNN uploaded the interview with the “plenary authority” comment edited out.

JB Pritzker and Gavin Newsom are doing something new and important: They understand Stephen Miller's theory of fascist power politics, and they've developed a theory on how to combat it. More Dems need to reckon with Miller's understanding of the moment.

New from me:

Inside Stephen Miller’s Secret Plan to Normalize Trump’s Dictator Rule
He wants to supercharge searing civil tensions to get low-information voters to embrace their inner authoritarian. Exactly two Democrats appear to fully grasp this.

Yeah, that one's a cracker.

I mean, sure. They want (I think) someone who's good with the dog whistles. Sounds respectable. Knows how to say the quiet part reasonably quietly. Not quite at the Stephen Miller end of the spectrum.

Trouble is, the fashies now all wanna talk like Miller does.
michaelsharris.bsky.social
No doubt. But they're walking the line of plausible deniability here.

They still (just barely) want to present as respectable.
michaelsharris.bsky.social
Oh hell yes. But CPAC wants to be just THIS (safe) side of full fash. So they have to pick someone who has some appeal but is not too wildly out there. It's a dangerous line they walk (as Freya Leach found out).

Margojeff follows, and is followed by, more people than follow/are followed by you. So why they're so animated about you is a mystery.

But, oh, *taps side of nose* they're a (Reverse) Asymmetric! Following more than follow them back. They're taking it personally!

I'm willing to endorse this if you need it.

"puts the 'ick' in 'prick'" is going to be THE line for the next few years, love it

You know who doesn't integrate? People like Robert Jenrick. You think he works out at the local leisure centre? Goes to the Tuesday night pub quiz? You think his golf club lets anyone play? Or his private members' clubs let anyone in? He puts the ick in prick

Absolutely loving this as a humblebrag. It might be the best one I’ve ever seen.

Conservative conference was quiet this year. How quiet? Well, 5 months ago I gave a speech on procurement at the same venue that was better attended than Robert Jenrick’s keynote

- Grim that media barons are buying up mainstream media and making them fascism-enabling propaganda engines

- ULTAGRIM that so many of the big-name journalists escaping that fire are voluntarily leaping directly into a completely separate newsletter website trap set by the same fascists

I reconnected with a friend (former bandmate/housemate) online after he found some music I released and messaged me. He'd moved to the US from Melbourne for love.

Big Rubin fan. Gave him that coverage to be Concerned About the Intolerant Left.

I eventually had to block him.
