my neighbour and i have already joked that we and our other neighbour will have watch parties on her front porch this summer.

honestly ... it'll be nice to not worry that the house is going to fall down. 2 neighbours toured it and said the upstairs floor bounced ... and that's rarely a good thing!

i would mention it at your next appointment. get a feeling for your doctor's thoughts on it ... i.e. hormone treatment, etc.

i'm not at the point where i need it, but i believe my doctor is on board for the day when i say i think i might.

apparently not? it sounds like they are going to fix it up. but who knows?

i feel bad for him. he basically had to clean up his father's mess.

but i'm excited to see that house come back to life.

apparently, they are renovating and not tearing her down ... and in this case, i think it was simply the condition of the house. a similar house that was outdated, but well cared for, a block away sold super quickly last year.

right? i mean, it's going to need SO much money put into it ... i feel like we're about to watch a real life performance of the tom hanks/shelley long classic "the money pit".

the price would come down every few months, so i think she was getting him to see reality ... but the last asking was $249k, i think, so it was still a significant drop to the final price.

i think there was more to it ... there was some family drama involved, and unrealistic expectations set because of that. the owner (son of the owner who passed away) has been having serious health issues for the past few months, no doubt not helped by the stress of it.
December 3, 2025 at 2:53 PM
apparently they are renovating it and not tearing it down. it will be the neighbourhood entertainment for 2026, i'm sure.

maybe it's perimenopause? because everything wrong with me seems to be.

i considered getting the that dutchman's cheese calendar this year, and i think i will next year ... i'm jealous of your daily nibble!

we had an historically dry summer, so the rain and wet snow is welcome ... but the damp cold before it arrives is not my favourite, that's for sure.
December 2, 2025 at 6:25 PM
it really is. the town itself is around 13,000, with around 50,000 people in the whole county ... small but not tiny. some days i don't know a soul, and some days i know everyone. 😂
December 2, 2025 at 6:23 PM
it really does. it’s that bone-chilling damp that makes my joints hurt.
December 2, 2025 at 5:54 PM
how to tell i only send time with a dog ... i had to google that. 😂
December 2, 2025 at 2:45 PM
as a former fundraiser, i say it does ... support is support!
December 2, 2025 at 2:29 PM
it's seriously so tough ... sending you a big hug.

i love this! it's like your own manhattanhenge ... or actual stonehenge, i suppose!
December 2, 2025 at 1:21 PM
oh, that's great! the matching doesn't seem to be as common as it was a few years ago, but it's always a nice motivator to get people to give.

i do donations in lieu of client gifts, so i have to sort that out today.
