Got this reply this morning from a similar email I sent last week. I've seen others with similar replies. Hopefully, they're listening? Doubtful if they'll actually act though. Regardless, absolutely important that people are emailing them relentlessly.

Sorry, I didn't say that rivers pollution was connected to defence spending. But i don't think it's accurate to say that our rivers are poisoned is hyperbole, see below from rivers trust. I completely agree that its due to profiteering
