one of my recent preoccupations is the visceral hostility the MAGA right has for the histories and traditions of the United States. these are people who spit on the Declaration and salute third-rate European despots!
It's striking that progressives like Tim Walz and Zohran Mamdani evoke the middle American attitude that, "Yes, we can fix these social problems because we're Americans and it's the right thing to do!" While the "America first" right only emulates failed and failing nation-states elsewhere.

Most rebuilds at non-blueblood schools take a couple years to get going and yet *Indiana* of all places just turned into an absolute war machine overnight.

When I attended the Mizzou-Indiana football game in 2014, there was one young Indiana fan behind me, about 8 or 9 years old, who was enthusiastically telling his dad about the Hoosiers’ scheme and playcalling the entire game, and I am just absolutely thrilled for that kid today, wherever he is.

When we were doing Minnesota-Nebraska game retrospectives leading up to The Chair game this year, we read a lot of old sports writing.

It was compelling, artistic writing that sometimes genuinely could be counted as literature! We’ve lost something by the demise of this style.

For the record, I have no real takeaways from Mizzou’s Gator Bowl performance other than “it happened.” And honestly you probably shouldn’t, either.

There was a liberal court for a few years in the mid 20th century and the right wing response was to delegitimize for DECADES right up to the point they had a supermajority, at which point it became Wrong to do so. These people think you are stupid bsky.app/profile/chri...

On Face the Nation, CBS News's chief legal correspondent went after Supreme Court critics as "dangerous." And yet, her court defense was completely lacking in specifics.

A fitting end to a very annoying season. Portal shopping time.
Wow, the refs pull Missouri's QB out of the game for the final play because his head hit the ground hard on the previous play.

Walk-on QB comes in, pass is incomplete, Virginia wins the Gator Bowl.
