Labour are in a weird spot on Dublin City Council where they only have 4 seats, but just last week Ivana Bacik wass making the rounds about a left-wing alliance at a national level. Councillors in Fingal voted against the FF/FG budget last week, notably.

Some within the left-wing alliance believe that the Greens have nothing to lose in voting against the budget as this week marks a year since their electoral wipeout, and the optics of them voting with Fianna Fáil/Fine Gael to increase rents for council tenants would look bad for the Greens
