"The Chamber", my newest minicomic. 20 pages, black and white, digest sized. Going out to club members later this month www.patreon.com/posts/mike-d...
The cover to a minicomic entitled Mike Dawson's Magnum Opus THE CHAMBER, for mature-ish readers Detail from the cover, we see different movie posters from the 1990's and four fellows lounging around their room, probably talking about one or the other of those indie films that they love Someone is yelling at Mike Dawson to stop it!! He's making everyone uncomfortable because he won't shut up about Joe frickin' Matt!

Not only have editors prevented me from showing my ass in public, so has hiring sensitivity readers. I’m a big fan of both. Having someone be honest with you while also keeping your best interests at heart is something to be valued not dismissed

An actual hot take: Too many authors are afraid of editors watering down their voice or whatever and not afraid enough of editors letting you put any old slop on the page.

Artist isn't a real job, it's just a glorified hobby, we're blessed just to do it, drawing is its own reward, we should be grateful to have these dead-eyed tech bros scraping and stealing our work to make something real and useful
boxbrown.bsky.social
if AI biz was started by $5 trillion stolen in armed robbery from a bank it wouldnt be allowed to continue on. but since it was made by robbing artists of $5t worth of value, its fine.

She is a real deal amazing person. In cut throat industries built to chip away at her soul, it seemed too pure for them to dent. Hope whatever is going on, she’s not in pain.

The media’s job is to make you think that the people who want to give you healthcare are just as crazy as the people trying to take it away.

I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

at this point you have to acknowledge that there is no way that these guys don't try to mess with the 2026 midterms. there is absolutely no respect for the legitimacy of the opposition

Stephen Miller: "Eventually elections don’t carry the day because violence beats votes… When we see a muscular response from the federal government, it’s because we’re not going to let violence beat votes."

Is he implying federal intervention determines political legitimacy, not ballots or courts?

Yes, very difficult to remember the extremely common name of "Ghislaine Maxwell," a person you might only from their association with one of the most famous criminals in history, who was also your best friend. I could see how you'd need a little refresher.

Trump on pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell: Haven't heard the name in so long. I’ll take a look at it. I’ll speak to the DOJ. A lot of people have asked me for pardons.

Reporter: But she’s convicted of sex trafficking

Trump: I’ll have to take a look at it.

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

“I voted for none of this."

Prominent influencers, including Theo Von, Joe Rogan, and Andrew Schulz, are starting to distance themselves from the president they helped propel to the White House.

There's still plenty of time to back my 'Zine Storage Box Kickstarter, and get yourself a very functional and cool looking way to keep all your favorite 'zines and minicomics handy. I spent a bunch of time this week working out the practical realities of producing these, not super fun, but necessary

There once was a time when you could say something had been written about in “the journal” and there was a more than decent chance that most people in comics would be aware of it

I'm just trying making comics and somehow get them in people's hands. Can I not have to learn a new social media platform every two years to do so?
