Discipline has almost nothing to do with it, once environmental stressors are factored in. Shown time and time again that will power alone works only for a minute subset of people.

Diet and lifestyle intervention works less than 5 percent of the time. To me this proves there's a strong physiological aspect to obesity. One we don't quite fully understand yet. Mix that in with a food environment that's full of caloric dense tasty food.... you see where I'm getting at
