Lundstrom's follow up book going to Guadalcanal is also excellent. Crazy how many sorties ended in "...and he was never seen again" across the unfathomable distances of the South Pacific

fwiw I touched on JIT for my MSc thesis and on the civilian side it's become less popular since the COVID supply shocks. Which is part of the reason that the Red Sea closure had comparatively little economic effect globally.

I would hope (lol) it's the same or better on the DIB side.
