The moves come after a $60 million lobbying blitz from the chemical industry.

This is why you always follow the money.

The EPA has approved two new pesticides with "forever chemicals" that will be used on food.

The agency has also announced plans for four additional approvals.

The approved pesticides will be used on vegetables such as romaine lettuce, broccoli and potatoes.

This month, a team endorsed by Guillermo del Toro released Mexico's first stop-motion feature. It's 2 hours of pure imagination.

The film is called I Am Frankelda, and we've taken a deep look into how it came to be: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/the-film-a...

This is the Groove-billed Ani (Crotophaga sulcirostris), and it's just straight up a dinosaur.

Like, I know *all* birds are technically avian dinosaurs, but my first thought looking at this guy is: dinosaur.

40 Years ago Carl Sagan knew about Climate change and he was so aware of it's impact on Nature more than us we do right now.

March 2025 continued the trend of exceptionally warm SST departures, particularly in the midlatitude bands of both hemispheres. Meanwhile, La Niña conditions are fading in the central equatorial Pacific. And unsurprisingly, widespread below-average SSTs remain hard to find. Data from NOAA OISSTv2.1.

Remember how Mark Zuckerberg started cozying up to Trump as Meta donated $1 million to his inauguration?

Well now Zuckerberg is trying to cash in — reportedly lobbying Trump to settle the FTC’s antitrust lawsuit against Meta.

This is why you always follow the money.

Honestly, last night’s bullshit is going to be a last straw for a lot of people when it comes to the Democratic Party.

Matching outfits and grimaces are not a real response to fascism.

We need an entire party of Al Greens.

Here's a mantra I picked up from a coworker that's helped me keep on keeping.

I focus on what I can control and make peace with what I cannot.
I am in charge of my happiness.
I know my path is clear.
I know my mind is focused.

Everything is aligned in my favor

We pay/paid for NOAA data with our taxes. It's our data and we should have access to it. This is theft (misappropriation of funds). It's a high crime. 🌊
The most iconic figure in the environmental sciences is the Keeling Curve, the CO₂ record from Mauna Loa, Hawaii.

@noaa.gov had a wonderful site where you could visualize and download these data, and now it's just gone. These data belong to us and we should not let this happen!

These do not look like real election results. However they are the actual election results from the 2024 presidential election.

We have measured the #dropoff" in 9 states, and found an almost identical pattern in each state.

RIP TikTok. The ultimate example of the olds not getting it.

It is especially ironic that we're freaking out about a foreign owned social network when we're letting untrustworthy figures straight through the door over here

Say what you want about TikTok’s data collection but let’s acknowledge there has never been an algorithm so accurately able to connect like minded people on any other platform, and probably never will be replicated again.
