My Dearest You, I'm glad to be seen. It was not decided until early afternoon that I would attend. I needed to make sure I felt comfortable leaving Bella for a few hours. She's much improved but it's been a very very very tough week. But she and Ivy were fine.

Taking Bella to the vet at 1:30. She's got what I think is a yeast infection. She's eating and drinking, but she's really worrying the area and it's affecting her ability to walk and sit comfortably. Her parents are on a train in Europe but talked to the vet, as did I. Wish me luck. Poor baby.

There are few things more un-nerving to me than someone else's dog or child in my care and they begin to feel unwell.

Why am I up at 4am? Well, some people don't really respect personal space when they think it's time for breakfast. Actually, they barely leave me space all night long. But, that's what uncles are for. 10 days of heaven. And, uhm, 4 hours sleep maximum.

Lol. I only realized after posting that most people don't know my name is Smith. No reason they would lol. I've long been a fan of Smith No.45, peppermint tea. I usually use the leaves but the teas bags are great too.

My younger sister was on a month long cross country jaunt (I am the only poor sibling, lol) and brought me back some tea (and also a tote from Ann Patchett's Parnassus Books). I'm very very happy she's back in our hometown.

Maryland Senate President Bill Ferguson is wrong, and unilaterally blocking redistricting - just like he assisted in allowing ice-thugs to contract with local sheriffs in the state. Please call him and tell him he's wrong and we must redistrict. 410-841-3600.
