That’s exactly what it is. It’s temporary though because if those laid off workers aren’t going out to eat, getting work done on their houses, etc. they’ll feel it.
I low-key think a lot of working class MAGA is ok with being fucked over because they view the people who lost their jobs as better off than them, and are happy to see them taken down a peg, despite the fact that they are the people who keep this country running.

Why are people acting like Beyonce announcing a tour is creating some financial hardship for them. Like, don’t go if you can’t afford it. I will not be going to Bali this year bc it’s not in the budget. The airlines and hotels don’t need to shut down so that I don’t feel bad about that.

Not to get all "parenthood changes your whole perspective," but I do think becoming a dad has made me even less tolerant of Bluesky's doomer brigade. I'm completely uninterested in having depressive strangers lecture me about how my daughter's future is written and there's nothing we can do.
