I saw what you said & I can predict which policies of Newsom's you dislike. My point is that Dems are throwaways, we like this policy in spite of the policy maker (politician) whereas Rs line up on every point. Voters only see criticism of Dems & here we are, all branches of Gov't controlled by Rs.

One of the things that really shocked me in reading Matthew Desmond's eviction is how rare being unhoused used to actually be. People lived in shitty conditions but they weren't on the streets. The risk that we all live under now is from policy decisions especially since the 1980s.
I keep saying 'surely something has to break' with the housing crisis and I don't know why I think that because all evidence suggests that capitalism will just keep capitalisming while people die in the streets.

All the veteran teachers had their cars packed up by 10am, and left immediately after dismissal today. The rest of us were there until 4pm cleaning and packing up for winter break, like suckers. 😅
