Scrapping an investment that's proven to reduce reoffending to generating short-term cash while ballooning long-term *cost* (and harm). Prioritising their own individual power and careers over the actual wellbeing of the country they're supposed to be governing.

I had the privilege to ask some questions to Prof Gearty about anti-terrorism legislation, and the human rights concerns arising from the 2023 Legacy Act, at the Liverpool Summer School on CoE law last year. This is such sad news. What a loss.
