I'm listening to it right now and it's "no bad". It's one of 8 new things today which I'm working my way through, all of which are worthy of your attention, if you ever get tired of repeating Mr Brown's effort...

#CDFriday I have quite a lot of CDs. But you can choose my CD of the day.

Just reply to this, quoting

(a) a box number from 1 to 320 and
(b) a CD Number from 1-20

...and I’ll play it and post it…

#DailyCDBox 36 Marais - Medtner

Box a day, playing 1 CD. Enough boxes to last over a year

I chose the last of five Peter Maxwell Davis CDs of his 10 string quartets, commissioned by Naxos

Inside, I found our tickets to his 80th birthday recital in Glasgow in September 2014

That was a good night

Morning Friday morning... Various things have happened on my system over the last few days which are extremely annoying, frustrating and, of which, their cause is proving difficult to find. Hopeful of making my way through tho. First world problems, as they say. In the meantime, have a top day all!

#DailyCDBox 35 Maconchy - Malpiero

Box a day, playing 1 CD. Enough boxes to last over a year

Today, the complete (13) string quartets of Elizabeth Maconchy, played by 3 different groups, the Hanson, Bingham & Misty Quartets

As these choices are demonstrating, I do love difficult quartet music

#NP Listening to a band I can never understand people's liking for. Yesterday I found a list of LPs I had on home recorded cassettes in the mid 70's. One was listed as "Grateful Dead Live". I don't recall having had this and don't know which live LP it was. So I now have this. "Dark Star"'s not bad,

#DailyCDBox 33 Liszt - MacMillan

Box a day, playing 1 CD. Enough boxes to last over a year

I've chosen The Parley of Instruments' collection of music by 17th Century composer, Mathew Locke, "The Broken Consort". These works, from the 1660's, are, as the American Record Guide said, "delicious"...

#DailyCDBox 32 Laks - Liszt

Box a day, playing 1 CD. Enough boxes to last over a year

Chose a work by David Lang of Bang on a Can, "The Passing Measures", released back in 2000

Commissioned by the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, it's one 42 minute, almost ambient, piece.

Tasty/Recommended
