ICE has kidnapped so many people from their cars that the city had to put out this statement. Let that sink in.
Vehicles that are abandoned due to an ICE detention and towed to the City's impound lot will be released to their owners or a representative at no cost.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Antivirals for influenza aren't miracle cures, but they can make the flu less miserable. Americans aren't taking enough of them—including a lesser-known drug that is better than commonly prescribed Tamiflu. @sarahzhang.bsky.social reports:

If you only have time to read one piece today, read this. It voices the particular pain civil servants have felt since “the purge”, which was never about waste, but rather removing the scientific and professional foundations of American government, making it easier to raid, sell, and manipulate.
The Purged
Donald Trump’s destruction of the civil service is a tragedy not just for the roughly 300,000 workers who have been discarded, but for an entire nation.

These are the sorts of things local authorities could be enforcing to get ICE out but aren’t, these are unequivocal public safety violations & with the mass of surveillance LP readers we already know where they are!

This is stunning. Listen to this in Philadelphia.

Thousands singing “Hey-Oh, we won’t be silent while our friends are gunned down.”

Really listen to it.

The reactionary centrist logic is simple: if the left does something bad it’s the left’s fault, and if the right does something bad, it’s also the left’s fault for making them do it. It’s a simple formula and once you see it every one of their arguments is the same
