I loved reading Tom Robbins books in my 20s, while I was living in Seattle. I had no idea he was born and Blowing Rock. Thinking I'll go back and reread his collection, plus the last two novels I haven't read yet. I wonder if I'll feel the same in my 50s.

Brian Canipelli, chef/owner of Cucina 24 restaurant in downtown Asheville, died suddenly on Thursday. Canipelli moved to Asheville in 2003 and was a James Beard Award nominee in 2016. He was in his mid-40s. The local food community is in shock, and our condolences go out to his family and friends.
