Why is this still the framing rather than you shouldn’t be deporting anyone there? It’s obvious that criminality is something that they can determine whenever and however they want, but it feels like immigration views here have gone so hard right that you can’t even push back against the act itself.

I think a lot of people are refusing to reckon and accept the fact that many others aren’t put off by cruelty to others but are happy about mass suffering as long as it’s people they hate. And presenting them with stories of that suffering doesn’t shock them into understanding but makes them happy
