How long does it take for people to realize they’re on the wrong side of history.

This is a thing I think about a lot.

the church pete hegseth is a part of, the CREC, is led by a lunatic who gives talks about "the lost value of sexism" and wants to drive women out of public life. this fully accords with hegseth's public comments. and he's been selected to run the largest corporation on earth

I hope any sermon I preach, talk I give, and curriculum I write is condemned by the state, by empire.
The GOP have no idea how many preachers will line up to preach sermons that will be condemned by them....
GOP lawmaker files resolution to condemn Bishop Budde for her sermon. Ridiculous assault on religious liberty. Gov.'t shouldn't decide which sermons are acceptable or not. This sadly fits with how Trumpian politicians & preachers are responding to Budde (publicwitness.wordandway.org/p/brave-serm...)

The "he's not gonna listen to her" reactions are missing many points. Lots of other people are also hearing it. Lots of people can see him hearing it, then weigh what she's said with what he'll do. Lots of people can see her refusal to surrender these ancient teachings to the latest face of empire
Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde to Trump: "I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender people in Democratic, Republican, and independent families, some who fear for their lives ... and the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals"

Not everyone can fight Trumpism and Trumpists directly. But remember this: kindness, decency, and fidelity to American values are defiance in the face of Trumpism.

So be kind, decent, and faithful, particularly to the many kinds of people despised and attacked by Trumpists. That’s revolutionary./1

A word of caution for the months and years to come:

Outrage is anger which arises from fear which is a deep-seated human response, and farming outrage for attention is not a partisan phenomenon.

Before you spread it, double check your sources.

These summarizations along with all other ones from the iPhone’s AI suck anyway.
Less than six months after rolling out a series of AI features, Apple is disabling one of its signature capabilities: aggregating and summarizing news notifications.

The company’s Apple Intelligence system has erroneously characterized news stories, provoking a backlash from media companies.
