Keith Haring did so much to help de stigmatize AIDS, and make awareness and understanding part of mainstream American culture. Far more than politics or even the medical field at the time. He was a different breed of artist who cared about people and made activism cooler than complacency.
Today was World AIDS Day and I didn't post the most gutting piece of AIDS-related art, Keith Haring's Unfinished Painting. You all deserved better from me.

Got called “he” by two co workers who don’t technically know I’m trans and didn’t know me from the before times. Hard to not see my transition as a failure Somtimes. I know I’m not the prettiest woman ever but damn, little stuff like that still hurts even this far in.
