That public notice sign was attached to a house on 26th Street. A city worker put the wrong street name on it. Google maps shows that someone auctioned off the fire house during the pandemic.

Over the past decade, the 500 block of 26th Street has seen at least two fires, one that killed a three-year-old girl, the removal of a decomposed body from inside a house, and three fatal shootings. It's a short block, and it's a sad block.

Detectives had tracked the suspect to the Inner Harbor skatepark on multiple occasions during the Fells Point investigation. Authorities charged him in connection to the Inner Harbor shooting, but they decided the Fells Point shooting was self-defense.

The second shooting happened at McKeldin Square, which is a popular tourist area next to the Inner Harbor by day that occasionally moonlights as a crime scene by night.

I try to listen to every major crime. I don't want to be hand-fed select information and then go my merry way. I want to use a bit of sonar detection to understand the shape of the crime, its speed, and its depth.

After all, it probably changed several lives. That's not nothing.
