What is going on?

The scarf! I finally finished teaching myself to knit from books and the occasional video tutorial. Sooo many mistakes, but this process was so us (and necessary!) for learning about so many aspects of knitting, even though it’s incredibly basic. I’m ready for more! 🧶 #knitsky

Sometimes when doing acquisitions for work, I run across books that I feel like I *need* in my personal library. One of those came yesterday..

Latest pic of Huck. He's wearing his winter gear now. *&* the city put up a fence! My neighbor & I thought we were going to have to bite the bullet & pay for one, & they aren't cheap. Either the city thought they planted the tree or we have an anonymous benefactor. Either way, it was a great day!

We have decorated him this year for Halloween and Christmas. Surprisingly the community has rallied to protect him and once when someone destroyed a first set of decorations someone in the neighborhood wrote a note threatening to beat the anyone's ass who bothered the tree again. Very NYC. lol

I planted a tree in my neighborhood with one of my neighbors last spring. In NYC you can claim empty pits on the sidewalk and plant in them. We planted a hackberry tree and her son named him Huck. Here are some photos over his short life...

I started traveling again this past fall. I went to Uruguay and it was excellent, got back into taking picture with my camera. I thought about bringing a 35mm but stuck with digital. I'm excited to be getting out in the world again.

I ultimately decided to keep my Twitter account to keep an eye out of what the masses are thinking, saying, doing. No real posting but today.. umm, why is The New Yorker praising J. Edgar Hoover? I've never liked it, but like what is going on? (Disclaimer: I know what's going on.)

I saw my first brown pigeon, s/he is a neighbor. So pretty.
