There is no true love of space without love of this Earth and the life upon it. As we look up at the stars with awe, may we always extend our hands to one another in committed solidarity for the life and freedom of all who may be oppressed and downtrodden upon this world.

Better is possible.

Oh gosh, that manga was something.

The ugly Al ghibli userpic is the cherry on top of a man admitting he's too into transphobic channer bullshit to have ever talked to a Black trans woman before.

The only correct take on a fundamentally anti-human technology.
Screenshot of David Simon interview
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

He is a rather vocal neo nazi and conspiracy theorist who likes to imply the nazis were the good guys fighting the good fight. He clearly meant exactly what he said.

Definitely. And honestly, I've even had numerous close friendships over time or been intimate with folks and then things shift away or fade and sometimes return later. Or I just see them again, off doing their thing and with new people in their lives, and it makes me happy seeing they're well.

It's a really interesting feeling, right? I think as I near 40s and life just keeps going, with me hearing about different people who I connected with no matter how briefly in the past and how the years have changed and taken them. Even with the pains, I love this world I share with others.

I can't believe I read that whole thing and there isn't one denial in it, just deflection.

On the off-chance this isn't bait:

The issue is your definition of lesbian. It has never just meant Women Loving Women. Look at the legacy of butches, of daddy culture, of masculine gender expression among dykes. It is a rejection of patriarchal gender norms and romantic expectations, not just WLW.
What is a he/him lesbian? / want to be supportive of people's identities, but| eel like this is taking a word with a specific meaning women loving women) and generalizingit beyond practical function.

There's so many upsides to knowing many folks over the years, with some fighting very publicly for our rights, testifying in Congress, making great art and games, or writing vital stories.

Though at times you also knew someone who is later a leading voice against your rights or in the White House.

I'm so glad. I remember the letters effort and how happy I was when she got to go to the beach with my friend after release. Chase worked so hard for her, and I was really thankful.

She deserves good people in her life, and I'm happy she has you as a good friend.

At times I regret being way less known these days, as I miss people and miss the platform to an extent, but part of it's just how things had to be and the nature of our lives.

Many people experience this over their lives, and past or not, I'm grateful for people I know now and will in the future.

As a mom focused on my child for years, I was very grateful for the many relationships I made and the resources I worked on that seemed to help other queer folks.

And that continued even as my health interfered more and I nearly went blind. I stepped way back, but still hold deep love for so many.

There's something really beautiful as you get older where you notice more and more the little ways people came in and out of your life and you into theirs, in big and small ways.

I've met a lot of people over the years and had a small impact on many, some in the public eye, and life just keeps on.

Miyazaki: in this movie two young girls (one is a toddler) are uprooted from everything they know to start new lives near the rural hospital their mother is in; she is possibly dying of TB. Their dad works several hours away and they are largely unsupervised.

AI Bros: so homey! So comfy!

every ai bro who has reduced miyazaki to empty gentle aesthetic should no exaggeration get the judas cradle bc this man's markmaking & passion about telling WAR STORIES
