This is quite underrated among the films of Woo's best period, in my opinion!
John Woo’s fast-paced heist comedy ONCE A THIEF joins the Hong Kong Cinema Classics line as a 4K/Blu-ray January 27, 2026.

The stylish and light-hearted romp has stolen the hearts of audiences for over thirty years, and you can pre-order it now! gruv.com/products/onc...

Good.
Decided that I ought to break my writing hiatus by saying a bit about these two films. I wrote reviews of each on boîte :)

lots of films getting 4k restoration treatment these days, and the renewed attention being paid to Kurosawa Kiyoshi lately makes me hopeful that someday we'll get good transfers of these, too.

brilliant double-feature, btw.

Every Kurosawa film I watch brings further delight :)
NW: "Creepy" (2016, dir. Kurosawa Kiyoshi)

I have been working through Kurosawa's extensive (and impressive) filmography, and have finally sat down to watch a particularly big draw for me. By the mid-2010s he was no longer consistently producing Horror films, so this is a treat! #filmsky 📽️

A thing what I wroted. I'd gladly have made this two or three times longer - it's a phenomenally rich subject - but the BFI has a standard template and word count for these pieces.
Where to begin with Theo Angelopoulos
Ninety years after his birth, and as a season of his films begins at the ICA, we suggest a beginner’s path through one of the heavyweights of European arthouse cinema: Greek master Theo Angelopoulos.
